Joy Green-Armstrong
Joy Green-Armstrong has joined the Real Estate Firm of Meredith Shearer, Associates, LLC. Joy counsels’ clients on residential real estate purchases, sales, leases, REO, and refinance closings. She works closely with agents, buyers, lenders, developers and builders to assess risk and provide sound legal advice leading toward a smooth closing experience. Joy has considerable experience working with bankers, federal and state regulators. She facilitates common sense solutions to the multitude of issues which can arise in real estate transactions. She works and lives in the Cobb community and is thus able to provide a very personal approach to each closing and client.
Joy brings a deep understanding of real estate transactions from several angles. Prior to joining Meredith Shearer, she served as Vice President, legal counsel to the First National Bank of Alaska. In this role, she provided legal advice for regulatory, compliance financial and real estate transactions. She oversaw and advised the mortgage loan origination, underwriting, servicing and quality control program and has considerable experience with Commercial loan trust guarantor transactions. Earlier in her career she worked with a title company as legal counsel, the Administrative Offices of United States Court Federal Public Defenders and the State of Alaska as an Assistant District Attorney.
She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Alaska State Bar, and the Connecticut State Bar and the Cobb Association of REALTORS® Joy is a member of the Cobb Bar Association, Business Law and Litigation and Women of the Bar Sections, the State Bar of Georgia, Administrative Law, Business and Real Estate Sections. She is a Life Member and former Vice President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Xi Psi Omega Chapter, Board Director for the Alaska YWCA, Municipality[JG1] of Anchorage Library Advisory Board and the Anchorage Salvation Army Booth Home for Homeless Girls. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading. Joy and her husband are active parishioners at Transfiguration Catholic Church.
